As part of the process to develop the South Lanarkshire Community Participation and Engagement Strategy 2020-2025 we spoke to various groups and asked for feedback on our ideas, held a series of focus groups and took the strategy to an online consultation.

From the comments you provided, we have created a ‘You said, we did’ page to feedback to you on partnership actions.  Where we cannot act on your feedback, we will explain the reasons clearly and to you directly.

Please find below details of some of the partnership actions which were carried out following your engagement with us:

What you said... Fernhill Bus Service

The bus service in Fernhill is being stopped, and it’s the only public transport we have to get to Rutherglen Town Centre.

What we did...

The bus service was reinstated by the community working together with bus services and partner agencies.

What you said… Environmental issues across two localities

Vermin have been an issue across many locality areas.

What we did…

Plans have been developed to deal with this problem and will continue to be monitored by the relevant council services.

What you said... Rural paths

Paths and local grass areas are overgrown and are difficult to access in some rural areas.

What we did…

Paths have now been cleared and access has been improved.

What you said… Kilbank Park, Kirkfieldbank

The path at Kilbank Park leading into the nature nursery is in poor condition.

What we did…

Information has been provided to the nursery on the planning application process.

What you said…Free Sanitary Provision
Can you make access to free sanitary provision more accessible?

What we did…
As part of the legislation on period products, a consultation was coordinated to gather views on where people would like to access products within their local area.  Acting on this feedback, over 100 collection points were established, providing both bulk supplies and emergency provision to ensure easy and dignified access.
